2017-11-03 Game Night - Clank! and Century Golem Edition

-
The next game night is tonight at my place at 8pm.  Come one come all.  I'll have some snacks handy, plus the usual player-donated items.  Today should be a big crowd, and I look forward to seeing everyone! Tonight, we had a good turnout.  Four people were playing tonight.  We had fresh De-caffeinated tea, popcorn, and dug into the red bin for sweets. The first game we played was a new one for the table.  It was called Century 'Golem Edition'.  This was a buy and upgrade game where each player acquired various converter cards, and used them to expand and upgrade their colored gems.  These gems could be used to purchase various Golems.  each worth victory points.  Once five golems were purchased, the game would finish the round, and victory points counted.  Highest wins.  This one was popular - we played it twice. 2017-10-20 Race to El Diablo

-
This is a retro-post.  Since this is the first real game I'm discussing on here, I figured I should post something while I still recall it. We played a new game called "Race to El Dorado".  This is a deck-builder, with a hex-based race course.  It has the deck-building elements from Thunderstone, such as purchase OR move OR prepare.  The movement model is based on using the various currencies to traverse the hex terrain.  We had a 3-player session, and everyone seemed to like this game.  One of the players kept tripping over the name, and calling the destination 'El Diablo'. This was a memorable game.  It was played multiple times in one gaming session, and I would like to play it again. Got any pictures?

Greetings Players, This is a blog documenting the antics and adventures had by the Harrisonburg Game Night group.  This group is a very close-knit group of friends who likes to play.  And it just so happens that we meet up every fortnight. The intent of this blog is to track what we played, when we played it, and what each of us thought about it.  What we liked, what we hated, what we drank, and what we sang. I will try this for a time, and see how things go. As always, feedback is encouraged! GloryToad
